Why enter the Ridge Off Roader?

Unsure whether you should run the 2024 Ridge Off Roader? Here are a few good reasons why....

The Location - nestled in the Chiltern Hills, the race HQ is at Bledlow Ridge School (SatNav HP14 4AZ), situated less than 15 minute drive from Junctions 4 or 5 of the M40, or 15 min cab ride from High Wycombe Station (or 5 min cab ride from Saunderton Station).

The Countryside - Bledlow Ridge is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (ANOB) and the views are quite stunning.  You'll run through fields, along hedgerows, up hills, along a ridge with stunning views across Chiltern Hills and along quiet country roads.

The Hills - There are a couple of rather cheeky hills.  Past runners have been very proud to complete them! Bledlow Ridge, as the name suggests is 200 metres above sea level, or as one previous runner commented 'the clue is in the (race) name'

The People - Our marshalling and organisational teams are second to none.  They're all volunteers and they love organising and running this annual event.  You'll always get a cheerful smile and a helpful response to a question.

The Food and Drink - There's a great barbecue and plenty of energy food (usual array of cakes and some healthy snacks too) and drinks, coffee and tea etc.

The Cause - All the money raised from the event goes to the Bledlow Ridge School Association, a registered Charity.

If you are still unsure - just read a few highlights from our survey from runners who took part in the 2018 event.

" 90% of runners said they would be 'very likely' to recommend the race to a friend

" 99% of runners rated the event 'Excellent' or 'Good'

" 97% of runners rated our marshals on the route as 'Excellent' or 'Good'

And just in case we still haven't convinced you, some quotes from the 2016 runners:
